N.A.M.B. is a band from Turin, Italy. Ask them what the initials stand for, and you will probably get a different answer every time. Visit their Myspace page one day, and you might see the caption Nascere Artisti Morire Buffoni (Born Artists, Die Clowns), but the following day it could be something entirely different, like Neuroni Annoiati Masticano Boiate (Bothered Neurons Chew Rubbish)

One thing we do know for certain: their second album, BMAN, is a magnificent sonic adventure, with a psychedelic flair reminiscent of The Flaming Lips, dynamics and industrial elements á la Nine Inch Nails, massive stadium-friendly tunes and, beating underneath it all, a big heart of soulful pop.

N.A.M.B. s self-titled debut album Mescal was released in 2005 in Italy. The album was mostly sung in Italian, and won the band a good following in Italy, where they shared stages with international touring bands including Fantomas, Blonde Redhead, Michael Franti, Spoon and Chikinki. In November 2006, work began on their sophomore album, BMAN -- an ambitious, multi-layered odyssey about a little robot called BMAN. For this album, the lyrics were written mostly in English. The album was produced by N.A.M.B in their own Superbudda studio, and mastered in London, UK by Bunt Stafford Clark.

Ireland's TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB sign to Glassnote Records

GLASSNOTE RECORDS is proud to announce the newest band to join the independent label’s roster, Northern Ireland’s TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB. Releasing their debut overseas in February via Kitsuné/Co-Op,a North American release date for the album will be announced shortly.

On the cusp of releasing a 7” single of the song “I Can Talk” overseas, anticipation of the band’s debut is building and the press is already raving. Of the song, too long with them around,” while AOL’s Spinner UK adds “ the fresh-faced trio's energetic indie pop adds flashes of African-styled guitar to the template, alongside jangly touch stones such as Death Cab For Cutie and Broken Social Scene.” Stateside the band can be heard on the Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Remix Collection, where they covered US label-mate PHOENIX’s song “Lasso.”

"Two Door Cinema Club is one of the most exciting young bands in the world," says Glassnote president Daniel Glass. "We cannot wait tour and record in 2010.”

Prior to recording the album, Two Door Cinema Club were at a life-altering crossroad early in their career – go to university or lay it all on the line and follow their dreams. The trio, comprised of vocalist/guitarist Alex Trimble, bassist Kevin Baird and guitarist Sam Halliday, decided on the latter and took to Eastcote Studios in London to record with Elliott James (Bloc Party, Noah and The Whale). Phillipe Zdar (Phoenix, Justice, Cassius) mixed a number of tracks on the 10-song debut, and the result is an infectious and sparkling rock record sprinkled with elements of indie-rock, pop, electro and Afro- beats.

Band Bio:
Two Door Cinema Club’s story begins three years ago with three 15-year olds at school in a town just outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Vocalist/guitarist Alex Trimble and bassist Kevin Baird studied music together; guitarist Sam Halliday was a friend of Alex’s. The trio initially formed a rock band with a drummer, but after his departure, the remaining members realized“We were playing music that we weren’t enjoying,” says Kevin, “so we said ‘let’s write some songs, without any pretense of what they’ll sound like’. That’s why we find it so hard now if people ask us what genre we are.” Experimenting included using a laptop to generate beats. “It was born of necessity at first because we didn’t know any other drummers,” saysAlex. “We weren’t sure it would work but we grew to love it.”

‘Predator 3’ the new single from Nottingham-based band of brothers SWOUND! will be let out of it’s metaphorical cage on November 2nd. Three and a half minutes of fidgety indie punk, ‘Predator 3’ was inspired by a retro computer game where kids are terrified by a monster that can invade their subconscious and steal their brains! In the words of front man Joe it’s about “the insecurities and silly things that freak you out when you’re young and how they stick with you later on in life” and better still it’s a homage to one of the band’s favorite film franchises.

The release of ‘Predator 3’ follows on from their critically acclaimed debut, mini-album ‘Hello Future, Our Name Is Swound!’ produced by Paul Tipler (Placebo, ¡Forward Russia!, Idlewild). Plus, their track ‘We Are A Danger’ features on the ‘Kerrang: The Album ’09’ compilation album, which was released via Warners earlier this year.
