CANCER BATS announce new album & new EP

2010 is panning out to be a busy busy year for the gentlemen in Cancer Bats. 'Bears, Mayors, Scraps, & Bones', the band's third full-length offering, will be released in Canada April 13, 2010! In support of 'Bears...', the band will be touring the better half of North America with Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, and Against Me! beginning March 3, running until the month's end. First big announcement of 2010. It’s not really a secret as we’ve been working on this album for the past 10 months already but it is now finally done and we’ve got a release date set. Clothes Make The Man new music & tour dates

Toronto's Clothes Make the Man is going to be spending some time on the road throughout September/October. The band just wrapped up recording their forthcoming LP, Distance, with well known producer Julius "Juice" Butty (Alexisonfire, Protest The Hero). Distance will feature some of the band's best and loudest songwriting to date. Clothes Make the Man were holed up in the studio for most of the summer, save for a few important gigs opening for such acts as Hey Rosetta! and playing Edgefest. The band created a loyal and dedicated following after the release of their dynamic eponymous debut album in 2007. They have played alongside Moneen, Cancer Bats, Malajube, Attack in Black, and a slew more! To reward fans, the band will be selling special advance copies of the new album during Fall tour dates.

Vancouver's NINJASPY Sign With Japanese Label

Joel, Adam and Tim Parent, the 3 brothers that make up the powerhouse trio NINJASPY (www.ninjaspy.net), announced today that they have signed with ZESTONE Records to release Pi Nature, their debut album. Written by NINJASPY, Produced by Garth "GGGarth" Richardson and Ben Kaplan, and mixed by Bill Kennedy, Pi Nature is due for release on October 14th across Japan.

"People kept telling me we needed to go to Japan," says guitarist/ vocalist Joel Parent, "so I went there to do some martial arts training. I ended up meeting a ton of awesome, open-minded people. I heard bands like SIM doing ska and breakdowns, stuff that you would rarely hear in North America. I walked into record stores and actually found a ‘Mixture’ section on the shelves. On that trip I realized that we really belonged over there. Then I met a friend of a friend in Osaka, Tag from Zestone, and the world seemed a whole lot smaller.”

NINJASPY's infectious first single, "EVOLUTION OF THE SKID," was released in the Spring of 2009. The single is taken from Pi Nature and won them a coveted spot on the Taste of Chaos Tour in Calgary, AB.

The Sheepdogs Announce Canadian Tour

Saskatoon's The Sheepdogs will be touring Ontario and eastern Canada September and October leading up to the release of their new album in late 2009. The band will kick off the string of tour dates with their performance at the Western Canadian Music Award's in Brandon, Manitoba on September 20th. Their 2008 release The Sheepdogs' Big Stand has been nominated for Independent Album of the Year at the WCMA's. Their tour will include some US dates, Halifax, and everywhere in between.

Metal Blade Records signs Canada's AETERNAM!

Canada’s Aeternam has joined the Metal Blade roster! Formed in 2007 in Quebec City, Aeternam has been preparing to unleash their very own brand of epic death metal upon the world. Combining classic death metal songwriting with epic melodic soloing and middle-eastern influences, Aeternam has fine-tuned its craft and made it into a perfect blend of brutality and melody. Their first studio release, Disciples of the Unseen, was produced by mastermind JeF Fortin (Neuraxis, The Last Felony). The album contains 10 tracks of pure intensity, crushing riffs, pounding bass lines and brutal growls paving the way for epic solos, acoustic melodies, ambient keyboards and large vocal harmonies. Fans of Behemoth, Nile and Melechesh will most certainly find something about this band to enjoy.

Is it really fair to just focus in on one country...Russia is like triple the size of Japan, can you imagine the variety of talent, but yet we haven't even featured a band from that country.
