Metal Blade Records signs hard rock band RETURN TO EARTH featuring Chris Pennie of Coheed & Cambria (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan).

RETURN TO EARTH comments: "After self-releasing our first album, Captains of Industry, and discovering a heavier, more intense sound during the recording sessions for Automata, the three of us agreed that the scope of the band's vision would benefit from the support of a bigger, like-minded record label - one that had similar musical influences and an appreciation for our DIY 'studio geek' mentality. Also, a label we felt we could trust and depend upon to promote our songs properly. Metal Blade was always at the top of our very short wish list of potential partners, and so we were thrilled to discover that Brian Slagel and Metal Blade were as enamored with us as we were with them. Signing with Metal Blade is an affirmation of our hard work, and we are psyched to have them in our corner for the release of Automata!"

RETURN TO EARTH's music is highlighted by the awe-inspiring precision of Pennie's backbeat, Aveni's catchy rock hooks, and Scalzo's sing-and-scream, harmony-heavy vocals. Explains Scalzo, "We're al passionate about music, and have a shared affinity for classic metal & modern-day rock with lush production. We're three guys with three different perspectives - but you can hear all those influences in production. SENSES FAIL are unsigned & working on new music

In a recent interview with AltPress, frontman Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail reveals that the band is no longer signed with Vagrant Records as well as new music is coming. The band has completed writing and will enter the studio in April with producer Brian McTernan. Senses Fail expects to be DIY for time being and release their new record in Sept/Oct 2010.

We'd like to officially welcome Write This Down to the Tooth & Nail Family! The Minneapolis natives have been working on their debut self-titled full-length which will be available in stores and online April 20th. Write This Down became a band back in 2005. Opening any and every show that was put in front of them, the band were able to juggle work, school, non-stop practicing and song writing, and released two EPs on their own, to critical and fan acclaim. In 2009, the band signed with Tooth & Nail Records and immediately began work on their debut release. In April, the band packed their van and headed down to Nashville to work with famed producer Rob Hawkins. After several months of songwriting and completely refining their sound, the band chose 11 songs to be on their first full-length album.

BAYSIDE signed a comprehensive recording, merchandising, publishing and artist development contract (more commonly known as a"360 deal") with New York City-based indie Wind-Up Records, home to Creed, Evanescence, Hawthorne Heights, and others.

"When Bayside became available, I immediately went out to see a live show and I was blown away by their creativity and energy," says Wind-Up president Ed Vetri. "This is a band that has done the heavy lifting, put in the time and effort needed to build a strong core fan base, and has consistently delivered to that core base over the years. Eulogy Recordings signs THE TIRED AND TRUE

Eulogy Recordings are very proud to announce the signing of Connecticut’s THE TIRED AND TRUE. They are currently recording their debut album “SCENARIOS” at The Elwood Studio (Milford, CT), tracking and mixing is being done by Kurt Zikaras, mastering will be done at The 3030 Club Studio by Mike Kalajian with production being done by the band. “SCENARIOS” will be released on Eulogy Recordings this summer. They band is currently planning a summer tour to support the album.

Vocalist/Guitarist Kurt Zikaras commented: “I know I can speak for all of us when I say we are beyond excited to join the Eulogy Recordings family. So many of our favorite bands began their successful careers on Eulogy and have shaped the way we make music today. Joining the ranks of such bands have shaped the way we make music today. Sky Eats Airplane announce new EP "The Sound of Symmetry"

Sky Eats Airplane wil release a 3-song EP, "The Sound of Symmetry", on April 13th. Recorded with up-and-coming producer Taylor Larson at his studio in Bethesda, Maryland. The band intends to let the EP serve as a teaser of a forthcoming full-length, to be recorded this Fall. "The Sound of Symmetry" will be available exclusively on tour, at MerchNow.com, and digitally.

Rock Band launches new "Network"

MTV Networks and its parent, Viacom, also announced that mobile service provider T-Mobile will be a launch partner for the Network starting next month -- together, the companies will develop an"artist of the month" feature aimed to showcase "new talent" to Rock Band users.

"The Rock Band Network Music Store gives artists at any level the opportunity to reach new fans through our deeply engaging interactive platform," says MTV Networks Music Group SVP of Electronic Games and Music Paul DeGooyer.

Artists who submit songs for the Network can select from multiple pricing tiers per track, and receive 30 percent royalties for every track purchased through the Store Currently more than 100 tracks are available to purchase from artists like The Shins, Of Montreal and more -- commercial artist songs not available through traditional Rock Band track backs may offer songs for sale through the Network.

DRAGONFORCE announce departure of singer, ZP Theart

DragonForce have split with lead singer ZP Theart. The band issued the following statement, regarding the matter:

"It is with great regret that DragonForce announce a parting of the ways with singer ZP Theart. This is due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion but the rest of the band sincerely wishes ZP great success with his future projects."

While the creative core members have begun writing the fifth album, they have also started a worldwide search for a new vocalist. "We are looking for a powerful melodic singer to write a new chapter of DragonForce with us," said guitarist Herman Li.

OCEANA to release new EP and sign to Canadian label

Florida's OCEANA will release "Clean Head" their first EP, and a follow up to their second album "Birth.Eater". "Clean Head" will feature 4 tracks and fans can expect a release on May 4, 2010. Furthermore, OCEANA has signed a distribution deal with Canadian record label, Distort Entertainment (Cancer Bats, Bleeding Through, Dead and Divine).
