Relapse Records signs KILL THE CLIENT

KILL THE CLIENT formed in 2004 and has previously released two full-length albums in addition to split releases with AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED and THOUSANDSWILLDIE. The band has also appeared on For The Sick – A Tribute To Eyehategod and 2008’s This Comp Kills Fascists. The new material we are pulling together for this next release is on a new level and we can’t wait to get it out! "

KILL THE CLIENT has a number of shows lined-up in and around Texas and California including shows with MISERY INDEX, MAGRUDERGRIND, PHOBIA, DESPISE YOU, SHITSTORM and more. The band will also take part in the 2010 Relapse Records SXSW showcase on March 17th in Austin, TX. Relapse Records signs BLACK TUSK

Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Savannah, GA’s BLACK TUSK.

BLACK TUSK formed in 2005 and saw the release of their debut full-length, Passage Through Purgatory, last year via Hyperrealist. BLACK TUSK has most recently released a series of split 7”s including those with ASG, THE HOLY MOUNTAIN, and FIGHT AMP. BLACK TUSK are currently rounding out a run of dates with BLACK COBRA in the eastern US. Upon returning home, BLACK TUSK will begin writing for their Relapse debut for an expected spring 2010 release date.

BLACK TUSK commented on the signing: “It’s awesome to be on a label with so many bands that have helped shaped our tastes and with a staff that treats like family. We’re stoked to get this next record out and we have a bunch of tours in the works so keep an eye out.”

BLACK TUSK are currently featured in the December 2009 issue of Spin Magazine (on newsstands now) along with label-mates BARONESS as part of a story on Savannah’s burgeoning metal scene.

Relapse Records signs Finland's ROTTEN SOUND

Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Finland’s ROTTEN SOUND.

ROTTEN SOUND (Keijo Niinimaa – vocals, Mika Aalto – guitars, Sami Latva – drums, Toni Pihlaga - bass) formed in 1993 and have released a series of full-lengths and EP’s since their formation. ROTTEN SOUND’s latest album, Cycles, was released in January of 2008 and debuted at #12 on the Finnish charts ROTTEN SOUND are currently writing for their follow-up to Cycles but will first see an EP release early next year. The EP, Napalm, is scheduled for a March release via Relapse. Additional details on this release will be announced soon.

ROTTEN SOUND’s Niinimaa commented on the recent signing: "Relapse Records has been a strong label for grindcore since they started, which is one of the reasons that made us want to re-release our "Murderworks" album through them in 2005. We will fit to their roster like a fist to an ass. Being along the same line with other label-mates is very important for us because we want to tour all over this planet with bands we like ourselves. The upcoming “Napalm” EP and the next full-length album will start a new and (even) more aggressive era for Rotten Sound. Doing it together with Relapse Records will make this period more grind than any of our phases before."

Relapse Records' band DYING FETUS debut #166

DYING FETUS' brand new album Descend Into Depravity has debuted at #166 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and at #4 on the Heatseekers Chart respectively. The Heatseekers Chart lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists who have never appeared in the Top 100 of the Billboard 200. Descend Into Depravity, DYING FETUS' seventh studio recording, saw its North American release last Tuesday, and is currently streaming in its entirety at this location: DescendIntoDepravity.info.

DYING FETUS will kick-off a month-long European tour alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE starting next week in support of Descend Into Depravity. This tour will also include OBSCURA in the mainland followed by ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY and TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED in the United Kingdom.
