Photo Finish Records signs RIVAL SCHOOLS

Although an official statement hasn’t been made yet, recently reunited post-hardcore vets RIVAL SCHOOLS confirmed they have signed with Photo Finish Records during a recent interview with the UK's Rock Sound magazine. Rival Schools features Walter Schreifels ( Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, Walking Concert), Sammy Siegler ( Youth of Today, Judge, CIV), Ian Love( Burn, Cardia), and Cache Tolman ( Iceburn, Institute), and their one and only album, United by Fate, was released in 2001 via Island Records.

Rival Schools will be touring and releasing a new studio album by summer 2010.

3OH!3 announce new album title

3OH!3’s follow-up album to Want will be titled “Streets of Gold” and is due to be released in Summer 2010 on Photo Finish Records.

The Downtown Fiction release "Best I Never Had" EP on March 23rd

The Downtown Fiction hailing from Fairfax, VA, will release its new Best I Never Had EP, March 23 on Photo Finish Records (3OH!3, Envy on the Coast, Anthony Green).

The EP, recorded with acclaimed producer Stacy Jones, is now available for pre-order at: http://tinyurl.com/TDFpreorder.

In addition to being sold separately as a digital or physical EP ($5 each), the album can be purchased as a special $8 bundle which will include both the digital EP & physical EP, a TDF penguin bracelet, a signed TDF poster, and TDF stickers.

TDF has quickly built a loyal fan base and quite the buzz. Citing influences ranging from Green Day to The Rolling Stones, the pop-rock trio has a sound comparable to the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, and The All-American Rejects.

Formed in the summer of 2008 by Cameron Leahy (vocals/guitar) and Eric Jones (drums), the two posted three demos on their MySpace and were blown away by the response. Soon after, they recruited friend David Pavluk on bass and backing vocals to round out the trio.

Last year the group released its self-titled debut EP on iTunes to rave reviews. Instantly peaking at #22 on the overall iTunes charts, it was made aware that TDF was something special. Thanks to their catchy pop melodies, clever lyrics, and witty YouTube videos, the band quickly moved into the Top 25 unsigned artists chart on Myspace.com with nearly 2.5 million plays on MySpace all in a year’s time. The young trio found additional success on TV, having songs featured in E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, MTV's The Hills, The Real World, and the final song of the season finale of Styl'd.

The Downtown Fiction will be performing at SXSW in Austin, TX next month, after which they will head out on the Class of 2010 Tour with Stephen Jerzak and Stereo Skyline, followed by a run on the Vans Warped Tour (see dates below.)

I Fight Dragons sign to Photo Finish Records

Chiptune/rock Chicagoans I FIGHT DRAGONS announce that they have signed to Photo Finish Records/Atlantic Records.

So, as of today, February 4, 2010, we are officially announcing that I Fight Dragons is joining the Photo Finish / Atlantic Records roster.

Now some of you may know how big a deal this is, but some may not. So just what does this mean?

Well for one, "Heads Up, Hearts Down" is currently #5 on Denver's top Alternative Rock station, 93.3. Atlantic's awesome radio team will start to take it to stations all across the nation in the next few weeks, and before you know it, you might start to hear Chiptune-Rock on your radio dial. Nutso, right?

Another difference is that we're going to record and release our debut full-length album with Photo Finish / Atlantic. It will be available in retail stores across the nation, and the new singles will also be taken to radio by their intrepid team. To top it off, they are giving us huge amounts of creative control, and we are incredibly excited about the album.

The final, partially related, HUGE piece of news is that we'll be headed out on tour this spring with our fellow Atlantic Records bands 3OH!3 (Photo Finish), Cobra Starship (Fueled by Ramen), and Travis McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes, on Fueled by Ramen). 3OH!3 to release "Want" Deluxe Version on Sept 8th

Photo Finish recording duo 3OH!3 has announced the upcoming release of an expanded edition of their breakthrough debut album, "WANT." The deluxe version - which includes the new single, "Starstrukk (feat. Katy Perry)" - will be available in stores and at all DSPs on September 8th.

"WANT" has proven a true digital phenomenon, with close to 4 million tracks sold to date. In addition to the "Starstrukk" remix, the deluxe edition also appends a Kid Cudi remix of 3OH!3's blockbuster hit single, "Don't Trust Me" and the "Still Around (Big Mix)" by beatmaster Nathaniel Motte and MC Sean Foreman themselves. The deluxe digital version will also include music videos for both "Don't Trust Me" and the original "WANT" version of "Starstrukk."

"Starstrukk (Feat. Katy Perry)" can be heard in the trailer to Touchstone Pictures' upcoming romantic comedy, "When In Rome," starring Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel. The song will also be featured on Photo Finish Records' upcoming original motion picture soundtrack to the film, slated for release in January 2010 and received its world premiere on Ryan Seacrest's 102.7 KIIS-FM radio show. The track - which can also be heard at 3OH!3's popular MySpace page, www.myspace.com/3OH!3 - is set to ship to CHR/Top 40 radio outlets nationwide later this month. A companion video - directed by award-winning filmmaker Marc Klasfeld (Jay-Z, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters) - is currently in pre-production, will feature the cast from When In Rome and debut in early October.

In other news, 3OH!3 will be among the stars performing at next week's eagerly awaited MTV Video Music Awards ‘09. The Boulder, Colorado-based electro duo - nominated for "Best New Artist" - will join official VMAs house band Wale for a unique reworking of "Don't Trust Me." In the meanwhile, 3OH!3 has set off on a "Best New Artist" campaign trail, posting weekly videos to encourage voting to help them bring home a moon man. 3OH!3 have just released a live studio session available exclusively on iTunes. Sean And Nat have set aside their trademark synthesizers and beats for more conventional drums and guitar. The 6 song EP includes live versions of WANT album favorites like "Don’t Trust Me", "Colorado Sunrise" and "Still Around". They bring back an old school jam called "Dragon Backpack". ENVY ON THE COAST will begin recording their new album with Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson) at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica, CA on March 23rd. Lead singer, Ryan Hunter, revealed there will be some guest vocalists but so far he only named COREY TAYLOR from Slipknot!

"I never could have pictured myself in my bedroom one night sitting at my computer, struggling to find words to reflect upon Envy on the Coast as if it were a thing of the past. But now for me it is, and I will do my best...

Neither the guys or myself feel the need to expose any details of why this decision was reached other than the fact that it was the result of an overwhelmingly complex series of issues between myself and them over a long period of time.
