Pete Wentz clarifies Fall Out Boy breakup in a new interview.

In an interview with Cali-based entertainment magazine Variety, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz admits that the breakup rumors were blown out of proportion.

"We just haven't had the time to say anything. All I have been able to do is say, 'Man, I miss doing Fall Out Boy,' and I got to a better place hanging out with my son."

"Now I'm OK if Fall Out Boy comes back or doesn't come back. Like, if it's fun for everyone to do again, we're going to do it ... I just want it to be authentic when we come back."

Variety interviewed Pete in Miami at a pre-Super Bowl party where he was the guest DJ and as far as going solo he stated, "I don't know that I'm really cut out to be a solo artist. It's never really been an aspiration of mine."

Wentz said he has e-mailed Stump and the two are still cool with each other.

"We just wanted to talk about how blown out of proportion it's gotten. It's to the point where we're gonna make 'I Quit Fall Out Boy' T-shirts, just goofing around about it," he said. "We don't want any animosity about it at all."

The end of Fall Out Boy? Andy, Patrick, & Pete speak...

FOB drummer Andy Hurley weighs in on impending end of Chicago's finest:

"It's not looking great right now, but when we went into the break it was for sure that we'd come back in 2 or 3 years. I still think we will come back, but I just don't know. There's no official decision one way or another. The whole point of the break was to just get away, and not think about it, and in 2 years or so, come back and decide where to go from there. The reason i've given of touring and recording straight for 7-8 years is absolutely true as well. It was just burning us all out. And everyone else. We did too much so fast. Going away and coming back fresh could only be a good thing."

FOB singer/guitarist Patrick Stump stated the following in an interview with Spin Magazine:

"I'm not in Fall Out Boy right now. But one way or another, the band will always be around. Steven Tyler isn't in Aerosmith anymore, but his gravestone will probably say something about Aerosmith. Whether we play again or not, I don't know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don't, it will also be for the right reasons."

FOB bassist Pete Wentz blogged the following:

"i don't know the future of fall out boy. its embarrassing to say one thing and then have the future dictate another. as far as i know fall out boy is on break. (no one wants to say the “h” word). as much as i don't have a solo project, i also cant predict that i'd ever play in fall out boy again. not due to personal relationships as much as a band we grew apart. in this statement id like to include there is the possibility that fob will play again with out me or i will be a part of it when everyone is on the same page. it is no ones fault and there is no animosity about the decision. i felt as fans you deserve to know. there is no singular reason for this. the side projects or bands are supported by all members of the band. i am the single biggest fan of fob and if this is our legacy than so be it. i am proud of it."

FOB + ETID + Anthrax = The Damned Things

Fall Out Boy's Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley, Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley, and Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano have teamed up to form the metal supergroup, The Damned Things.

Scott Ian: “It just felt really good. From there we decided that obviously both of us are pretty busy in our day jobs but let’s see what we can do with this. Even if it takes us five years to make a record, why not? It’s super fun and it’s something that we do totally take seriously because we love the music we’ve created. People think of Fall Out Boy and they think of Pete Wentz and Patrick. These two guys, man, they’re fucking hardcore dudes. Joe writes some amazing riffs. We have this song called ‘A Great Reckoning’ that I swear to God, this song could be on any Thin Lizzy record. He fucking blew my mind with this song and I just can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Joe Trohman: “Scott’s right hand is the reason I got into playing punk rock, hardcore and metal! Having Keith as part of the mix is insane, we all know he writes incredible lyrics but he is also a really good singer. That is showcased in Every Time I Die, but we want him to go more into singing than screaming on this project.”

The Damned Things have already demoed and written over 15 songs and will begin recording in December before Christmas.

Pete Wentz discusses Millionaires & Decaydance

Fall Out Boy bassist and owner of Decaydance Records, PETE WENTZ, recently posted a blog regarding the malicious rumors and ill words about his label distributing the Millionaires' new EP.

I have never thrown my two cents in about the whole “millionaires” debacle. because contrary to what may be seen or heard i have learned from becoming a father that all of this blatant nonsense on the internet and witty one liners wont be worth a polished turd in a box in twenty years… but now that labels have begun calling me i felt as though i should clear things up for the first time…

I wanted to clear up the rumors and theories and set the record straight about the Millionaires and Decaydance.

The Millionaires are friends with Gabe. I am friends with Gabe. Gabe brought them to Crush. Gabe and I are both managed by Crush.

They are doing warped tour and Crush wanted their digital ep pressed. Decaydance is downstairs from Crush. We pressed 2,000 copies (future ebay collectors items if you get one with the Decaydance logo). They are NOT signed to Decaydance. - Pete

Here's the link to an old post where the Millionaires state that they are not signed to Decaydance, click here.

The footage is from the 'Believers Never Die Part Deux' Tour, enjoy.

Yes, FALL OUT BOY is a mainstream band, but we're all about tour videos too. So, to all the nay sayers that are not happy about us giving promotion to a mainstream band. Oh well, we stick by our purpose which also includes behind the scenes footage.
