FOUR LETTER LIE drummer leaves the band

FOUR LETTER LIE drummer Derek Smith leaves the hardcore band to pursue a rap career. Here's the band's statement regarding the departure, replacement, and new album.

Our good friend and drummer Derek Smith will no longer be a part of Four Letter Lie as he will be pursuing his rap career with his project Modern Sunshine. We are supportive of his decision as he is creating music he loves and is truly passionate about. Please continue to support him and check out his myspace: http://www.myspace.com/modsun

Myself, Brian and Connor started this band together when we were in high school and we will continue to do what we love together. We have seen every bump in the road throughout the years and we will rely on our friendship to keep us moving along this path. Our friend Tim Java will be drumming on the new record. Tim is extremely talented and has drummed for Dead To Fall, With Dead Hands Rising and currently his project modernsextrash. We are so excited about having him join us on this record. You can find more info about him here:
http://www.myspace.com/timothyjava

John and Connor will be playing guitar and our tour manager/ friend Dirty Sean will be handling the bass on tour. We will be looking for a drummer to join the band permanently, so if you or anyone you know are interested please send an email to: briannagan@gmail.com

We will be hitting the studio in ONE WEEK with producer Matt Goldman in Atlanta, Georgia to begin work on our 3rd full length titled, "A New Day," which will be released on Victory Records September 15th. Our CD release show is September 19th @ The Barfly in Minneapolis. Come out to the shows to hear and see the new Four Letter Lie! We are excited for all of you to hear our new songs. New tour dates will be added frequently!

Guitarist Tom Denney leaves A DAY TO REMEMBER!

A DAY TO REMEMBER post a new blog to fans about guitarist Tom Denney leaving the band. The new guitarist is Kevin Skaff formerly of Four Letter Lie! Read the band's statement:

Everyone,

To some of you this may come as a complete shock, and to others it will be nothing more than old news. However, we felt that what we're about to tell you shouldn't be left unsaid.
Anyone who came out to see A Day To Remember on our last European tour, or the majority of our tour with The Devil Wears Prada probably noticed that something was different.

Tom wasn't with us on our tour in Europe due to a broken wrist, and then was unable to complete the The Devil Wears Prada tour because it hadn't completely healed. Kevin Skaff (formerly of Four Letter Lie) filled in on both tours for us while Tom was healing up at home.

Here's the real juice...before Tom's injuries forced him to leave the Prada tour, it was known that Tom was looking to settle down, focus on his recording studio, get married, and prepare to start a family sometime soon. When it was decided that Tom was leaving the tour due to his injuries, we also discussed his passion to continue being in the band.

He told us he no longer had the drive to tour anymore. We all knew that he was genuinely over it, and we all collectively decided that it was best for him to just not be with us anymore. We flew Kevin back out a day later to fill in for the remainder of the tour.

At the end of the tour we all discussed what we were going to do about a new guitarist, and decided that Kevin was the man. He's an amazing guitarist, an incredible singer, and fits perfectly into what we're trying to do. His personality meshes so well with the rest of the band. We've become best friends with him in the short time he's been with us, and everyone that's seen him with us knows that our set doesn't suffer due to the change.

I know it's going to be hard for everyone to believe that Tom just left the band and that all of us were supportive about it.. Hell, I don't believe other bands that say the same exact thing. This was genuinely a mutual move for Tom and A Day To Remember. There is no point in rumors starting due to this formal announcement, because there is no truth to anything other than Tom was done touring and we were ok with that.

There are no bad feelings. Actually, we all just went to Tom's wedding last week. It was awesome, and we could all tell how excited he is. We're stoked for him, and he's stoked for us. The band is tighter then we've ever been. Tom is still going to be a big part in the writing process, and will remain so as long as we are a band. The music and sound won't change, just the person playing it.

We all hope that as fans of the band you can respect Tom and the rest of our decision. I spent almost 6 years in a band with Tom, so I assure you that seeing him go wasn't easy or the way I envisioned things from the start. We just hope that you all will be able to accept this change and move forward with A Day To Remember.

Tom wanted to make sure this was added. "I am still very close with everyone in the band. I am so excited for what the guys are going to do with Kevin. He is a great musician and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm excited on what material we all can create when it comes time to write a new record."

Everyone should do two things. Find Tom on myspace and wish him luck on his new life (www.myspace.com/tomdenneymusic). And secondly, send Kevin a message welcoming him to A Day To Remember (www.myspace.com/omgitskevin).

We love you all. Thanks for understanding and being supportive. We can't wait to see you all on this European tour, and Warped!

Josh, Jeremy, Alex, Neil, Tom and Kevin

Kevin Skaff officially leaves FOUR LETTER LIE

Kevin's Statement:

Hey what's up everybody. Kevin here. It saddens me to say that I will no longer be a part of Four Letter Lie. I wanna try to keep this short but I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who ever helped us, and me personally, out while being a part of the Four Letter Lie adventure. I'm still very close with all the guys and consider them my best friends to this day and wish them the best of luck in their bright future. Thank you everyone for everything and I'll see you in the future!

FOUR LETTER LIE new songs posted! Where's KEVIN?

FOUR LETTER LIE has been writing new songs for the past few weeks but in the midst of that they have uploaded 2 new songs on their myspace, "I Don't Speak to Dead Men" and "Firecracker". Hmm..."Firecracker" is very different from anything we've heard from them, nice change up while "I Don't Speak to Dead Men" has a good full hardcore sound, nice vocals on both songs! As I write this and listen to the music, I must say pay attention to the standout guitar solo on "Firecracker".

The Minnesota pop/hardcore band also has a member missing in their new band pic. What's going on... last we heard, Kevin Skaff was filling in on guitar for A Day to Remember in Europe. ADTR been came back, so where's Kevin?! His name is even missing from the 'Band Members' section. Hey guys, it looks like KEVIN SKAFF is no longer the singer/guitarist for FOUR LETTER LIE.

FOUR LETTER LIE recording new album

Last year after releasing What a Terrible Thing to Say , FOUR LETTER LIE, played their last show last night for a while...the band has stated that they will be going to record a new album. I suppose this answers the question why we haven't seen any new tour dates. To come out with a new album so fast after hyping up their last one, makes you think that it didn't very well with sales.
