Mike Kameran leaves Rookie Of The Year to start new band

Rookie Of The Year's vocalist/guitarist MIKE KAMERAN has posted a blog on Myspace regarding his departure from the pop/acoustic trio. However, tour plans in January 2010 with Between The Trees are still happening; no word if there will be a replacement.

Official Band Statement:
Hello friends! As some of you may or may not know, I’ve recently decided to leave the band I’ve dedicated my life to for the past 5 years, Rookie of the Year. It was something I had been thinking about doing for a long time now, but just didn’t have it in me to let go yet. Over the past few months it became clear that leaving would be the right decision. There are certain relationships that just can’t work and I had been stuck in one for a long time, trying to make it work. I’ve had some of the most amazing times in this band and I loved the music we created. haha Sweet Attention wasn’t the best, but was definitely not as bad as most of you made it out to be! Anyways, I think everyone else who had been playing in Rookie are leaving as well and the band will become a solo project again. As for me, I moved back home to NJ. I’m going to go back to college taking online courses, maybe start boxing for fun and be an overprotective older brother for a bit. MOST IMPORTANTLY!! I’ll be starting a new project with my cousin Daniel (piano player on SILYW) and some other great musicians, I’m hoping to get this thing off of the ground within the next month or so, so stay tuned and follow me on twitter if you want. (twitter.com/mikeoftheyear) This future will be bright. Thank you for reading this and thank you for the great times!

xoxo
